WHAT IS DAY OF THE COWBOY?
It is an event that showcases the working ranch cowboy and the skills that are used when handling cattle from horseback. We provide a rodeo performance that is not only the second richest ranch rodeo contest in the country but also entertaining for our spectators. Our rodeo production team strives to provide a fast pace event that will have you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Pageantry is also an important part of our production, with elaborate openings and a whole cast of cowgirls carrying our sponsor flags, you are sure to feel as if you have been to an old school rodeo.
WHAT IS A RANCH RODEO?
Ranch Rodeo in itself will transport you back in time as it goes to the beginning of our sport. With a team competition focusing on five events that center around the every day workings of a cattle ranch, it is rodeo at its roots. Our five events consist of Double Mugging, Branding, Ranch Bronc Riding, Trailer Loading, and Wild Cow Milking. The top three teams get the opportunity to compete in the final round with a chance at $10,000 winner take all.
WHAT CAN WE ENJOY DURING THE DAY?
On Saturday our gates open at 2pm. We will have vendors that focus on the western lifestyle. Starting at 2pm we will be hosting a live branding on site. It is a way to provide an experience to our spectators that is often hard to find in our part of the country. You can also enjoy live music during the afternoon, horsemanship demonstrations, and a kids area with country fair games.
WHAT WILL THIS COST FOR MY FAMILY?
The best part of Day of the Cowboy is that it is absolutely free to get in the gate and the only thing that you will need money for is shopping and concessions.
